Philosophy:
My main objectives are to:
- Help my students cultivate an individual and stylistically authentic sound that is sustainable and free
- Prepare their vocal instrument to stand up to full expression of emotion through text and music
- Teach my students about technical aspects of the voice and music.
Drawing from my experience and studies, I develop my student’s vocal function, musicianship, and confidence. I target specific functional voicework to help my students achieve their professional and personal goals.
As a passionate teacher, I create a safe learning environment in which I can connect to each student to introduce new concepts and help them realize their innate potential.
In lessons, I help singers overcome technical limitations so they have the creative freedom to express the stories inside them and find emotional release within their music. This vocal freedom lets a singer find joy and connection in singing, and masterfully transport their audience from feeling to feeling.
