New York Music School for All Ages & Instruments

Build musical creativity through improvisation, theory, and performance

Since 2008, New York Jazz Workshop has been Manhattan's music school for students ages 11 to adult. We offer private lessons and group classes in piano, guitar, drums, voice, saxophone, bass, and all instruments. Our approach—rooted in improvisation and creative musicianship—builds real musical skills across all genres: jazz, rock, pop, classical, blues, and beyond. Our dedicated facility is located in Midtown Manhattan near Times Square and Penn Station, with faculty from Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, and NYU. World-class instruction at a fraction of conservatory tuition.

Private Lessons: One-on-one instruction in piano, guitar, drums, voice, saxophone, bass, and all instruments. Available in-person at our Midtown facility, at select teacher studios throughout NYC, or online. Our instructors help beginners build fundamentals and experienced musicians refine their craft.

Weekly Group Classes: Ongoing ensemble classes for adults (17+) in multiple styles—from beginner-friendly improvisation to advanced bebop, Brazilian music, blues, and jazz standards. Play with musicians at your level under professional guidance.

Summer Intensives: Multi-day immersive workshops in NYC for musicians who want to rapidly improve their skills. Programs include improvisation, bebop, Brazilian music, vocal performance, guitar, and piano intensives. Students travel from across the US and internationally to study with our faculty.

International Music Retreats: Spend a week in Italy, Brazil, or Japan playing music, performing, and exploring culture with fellow musicians. These immersive programs combine music education with cultural travel.

Teen Summer Music Camp: Four-day program for ages 11-16. Build essential music skills including theory, ear training, improvisation, and ensemble playing—skills that apply to any musical style.
