Philosophy:
Nadia’s interest and love for teaching exist in parallel with her successful music career as a recording and performing artist, which has spanned over 25 years. Nadia is convinced that the best voice teacher is an artist who regularly performs on stage and never stops growing vocally.
Nadia’s favorite styles of choice when performing are jazz, R&B, soul, and pop/rock.
Biography
Nadia Chechet is a professional crossover singer, songwriter, and voice teacher. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, she has been living, performing, and working in the USA since 2011. She graduated from the Department of Linguistics at St. Petersburg State University (MA in Linguistics) and Berklee College of Music (BA in Voice Performance, Boston, USA – Summa Cum Laude). Nadia is the recipient of a Berklee College of Music grant, as well as the Berklee Performance Department Vocal Achievement Award. She is a member of the National Association of Vocal Teachers in the USA (NATS), trained in vocal pedagogy at the LoVetri Institute for Somatic Voicework (Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music), and has extensive experience in teaching students of various levels and ages. She is the author of theme-based vocal masterclasses and educational courses and a member of the jury of various children’s vocal competitions. Nadia Chechet studied voice and voice pedagogy with musicians such as Gabrielle Goodman, Armstead Christian, Donna McElroy, Jeanie LoVetri, Michelle Rosen, Christian Karam, Catherine Wright, Sharon Brown, and others.
