BEBOP Ensemble with Sean Conly
Are you ready to dive into the world of bebop? Join Sean Conly in an ensemble workshop that’s essential for any musician looking to understand and play jazz today. Bebop, a style that emerged in the 1940s and continued through the early 1960s, is the root of modern jazz language and it is found in any type of modern music from bossa nova to pop and rock.
In this BEBOP ensemble, you’ll have the chance to explore the music of iconic bebop artists like Charlie “Yardbird” Parker, Thelonious “Round Midnight” Monk, Dizzy “Dizzying” Gillespie, Sonny “The Saxman” Rollins, and Miles “The Man with the Horn” Davis. You’ll learn about their unique styles and contributions to the bebop genre, and you’ll have the opportunity to play as much as possible while learning about the specific concepts of bebop.
This class focuses on the sound and interplay of the band and allows students to grow as musicians and artists in an improvisational setting. It is ideal for intermediate level musicians who want to take their skills to the next level. So don’t miss out on the chance to swing with the bebop greats!
