Join saxophonist Marc Mommaas for a two-hour jazz improvisation workshop focused on ensemble and improvisational playing. This ongoing, hands-on music class is open to all levels and offers a path for musicians to enter the world of jazz improvisation by learning jazz standards.
Participants will be encouraged to learn, play, and improvise in a welcoming and non-judgmental setting. The Ensemble and Improvisational Playing Workshop provides a unique opportunity to work in-depth on improvisation techniques, form, chord progressions, and melodic development. You’ll use compositions from the standard jazz repertoire as a platform to learn and develop your playing, no matter what style of music you wish to play in your own time.
