Biography
Christian Valdés is a Colombian pianist, arranger, composer, and educator based in New York City. Originally from Cali, Colombia, he comes from a family of renowned salsa musicians and began touring professionally as a teenager with major Latin artists from Colombia, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. He has performed or recorded with artists including Ricky Martin, Diego “El Cigala,” Arturo Sandoval, and Grupo Niche. A 2026 Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition finalist and Latin Grammy-nominated contributor, Christian is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Jazz Piano Performance at NYU.
Christian specializes in jazz piano, latin jazz, pop, salsa, Brazilian styles and early classical piano.
