Sam Dimov

Biography
Sam Dimov is a trombonist, arranger, and educator based in New York City. A native to the Philadelphia region, Sam started playing the trombone at age 9. At just 17 years old he joined the 287th Army Band and served with the Delaware National Guard for a decade. During this time he earned his B.M. in Jazz Studies from Temple University and started his civilian career with jazz, funk, and bluegrass bands. Sam went on to earn his M.M. in Jazz Studies from UT Austin and has since performed with artists such as Aubrey Logan, Andre Hayward, Joel Frahm, John Riley, Greg Gisbert, Marshall Gilkes, Danny Jonokuchi, Kate Kortum, and Diego Rivera. He’s also worked in groups such as the Christian Wiggs Big Band, The Eyal Vilner Swing Band, Sofrito y Su Melao, and Mike Sailors’ Nonet. In his musical pit work, Sam was recently a member of the Broadway National Tour of The Addams Family. Sam has released two studio albums as a leader, “All Day Affair” (2024) and “Back For More” (2025).
