The New Soundcore Motion Boom Plus
I often receive requests to post links to products and articles and normally turn those down, but last week I received a request from the company Anker, one of the most successful brands owned by Amazon, to review the new Soundcore Motion Boom Plus. Since our community is made up of musicians and music lovers, I thought they would be interested in knowing our thoughts about this product.
I received the package via UPS in good condition, and in addition to the Soundcore Motion Boom Plus, the package included an instruction manual, a belt to carry the boombox, and a USB-C cable for charging. I unpacked the speaker and tested it by playing several jazz, rock, and pop tunes in several rooms as well as in the park across the street. I also used it to play backup tracks while I was practicing the saxophone. The sound is very clean and clear, the range of the volume is truly impressive.
Connecting the Soundcore Motion Boombox to Bluetooth was extremely easy, and the volume and all other commands are easy to find and self-explanatory. The device can lean on an angle so that if you put it on the floor, the sound will travel upwards towards your ear. The following are the specs advertised by Anker:
- Epic Outdoor Sound: 80W booming sound is delivered by two 30W woofers and 10W tweeters, while real-time intensified bass can be heard with Soundcore’s proprietary BassUp technology. To improve the treble performance of Motion Boom Plus outdoor speaker, titanium drivers ensure an all-around epic sound.
- Lightweight and Ultra-Portable: Take your tunes everywhere you go with Motion Boom Plus Bluetooth speaker’s built-in handle and detachable strap.
- 20-Hour Playtime: Motion Boom Plus outdoor speaker is equipped with a 13,400mAh battery capacity with 20 hours of playtime to save you the trouble of frequent charging and make listening more enjoyable.
- Water and Dust Resistant: With an IP67 certification, you’ll never have to worry about water splashes, rain, accidental spills, or dust while you’re out and about with your Motion Boom Plus outdoor speaker.
My assessment is that the Soundcore Motion Boombox is a solid and durable device that packs a punch and is probably one of the best and loudest devices in this price range. If you are looking for a powered speaker that you can take with you and is able to make people dance, this device is for you.
