Our Jazz Improvisation Workshop is designed for students looking to expand their knowledge of improvisation and jazz standard playing. The primary focus of this workshop is to explore jazz language through improvisation and ensemble playing. This will include discussions of theory, rhythm, harmony, and more! Students will have the opportunity to dig deep into jazz standard repertoire, employing various techniques to improve personal and group playing.

The Jazz Improvisation Workshop will be catered to the current students interests and abilities. This means that each semester will be a different experience. At the end of each semester, students will have the opportunity to perform live in NYC for an audience of family and friends. We are very excited to play some music and look forward to your enrollment!

All materials are in tune with the admission requirements stated by LaGuardia HS of the Arts, Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, Aaron Copland School of Music /Queens College and similar programs.
